The Future of ESG Data EMEA 2025: organized by Environmental Finance, this is the 6th edition of their annual conference focused on ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) data for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region. It will be held 13 October 2025 in London.
As ESG data becomes ever more central to investment decision-making, disclosure, risk management and sustainability reporting, this event aims to provide a forum for dialogue, learning and alignment. Key objectives include improving the quality, reliability and transparency of ESG data; helping stakeholders understand best practices in data collection, use, verification; discussing emerging tools (AI, physical risk modelling, satellite imagery etc.) and regulatory drivers; and equipping professionals with insights to manage ESG risks and opportunities across the EMEA region.
It’s a one-day programme with interactive panels, case studies, expert-led discussions, and possibly workshops. Topics to be covered include how investors use ESG data; what data users want; integrating data from new sources; challenges of standardisation; regulatory disclosure obligations; technological innovations in data sourcing and analytics. Networking opportunities are built in, allowing participants to engage with data providers, asset managers, regulators, and tech firms.
The event is significant because globally and in EMEA there is high demand (and regulatory pressure) for better, more verifiable ESG data. Investors, regulators, and companies are under scrutiny for greenwashing, inconsistency in ESG ratings, and lack of comparability. With evolving European regulation (e.g. CSRD, ESRS, SFDR) and growing stakeholder expectations, such a forum helps align market practices, clarify expectations, and push the ESG data industry forward. It also helps bridge gaps between data providers, users, and standard-setters in the region.
Attendees can expect: better understanding of regulatory & reporting requirements in EMEA; exposure to new tools & data sources; clearer ideas on how to improve data quality & comparability; strengthened relationships among providers, users, and regulators; possibly new collaborations or partnerships; and actionable insights for their own ESG risk management, disclosure, or investment strategies.
