European Sustainable Energy Week 2026 will take place from 9 to 11 June 2026 in Brussels, Belgium, and online, under the theme “A clean, secure and competitive Energy Union.” Organized by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency, EUSEW is Europe’s largest annual gathering dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use. The 20th edition will focus on building a secure and resilient Energy Union, expanding clean and affordable energy, and supporting Europe’s transition toward a more sustainable energy system.
The primary purpose of EUSEW 2026 is to convene Europe’s clean energy community around the policies, projects, and partnerships needed to accelerate renewable energy deployment and energy efficiency. The event is designed to support discussion on energy security, affordability, competitiveness, resilience, and clean energy innovation. Its objective is to bring together policymakers, industry representatives, civil society, academia, local actors, and energy professionals to shape practical solutions for Europe’s clean, secure, and competitive energy future.
EUSEW 2026 will include a three-day Policy Conference, European Sustainable Energy Awards Ceremony, Energy Fair, European Youth Energy Day, networking opportunities, and independently organized Sustainable Energy Days. The official EUSEW site confirms that the programme features 50 inspiring policy sessions in Brussels, while CINEA highlights registrations for onsite participation at the European Commission’s Charlemagne building and NH Brussels EU Berlaymont hotel, as well as online participation. The awards will recognize outstanding innovation in energy efficiency and renewables across categories including Women in Energy, Local Innovation, and SMEs Driving Energy Efficiency.
EUSEW 2026 is significant because it marks the 20th edition of Europe’s flagship clean energy event at a time when energy security, affordability, industrial competitiveness, and decarbonisation are central to the EU agenda. Its hybrid format allows broad participation from Brussels and beyond, while its focus on renewables, efficiency, local action, youth engagement, and policy dialogue makes it relevant for governments, energy companies, investors, cities, NGOs, researchers, and sustainability professionals. The event’s Energy Union theme also reflects Europe’s need to align clean energy deployment with resilience and competitiveness.
The event is expected to support stronger collaboration across Europe’s clean energy ecosystem while helping participants understand the policy direction, market opportunities, and implementation priorities shaping the energy transition. Attendees are likely to leave with clearer insight into renewable energy and efficiency strategies, stronger networks across public and private sectors, and practical opportunities to contribute through policy sessions, awards, the Energy Fair, youth engagement, and Sustainable Energy Days. Based on the official positioning, EUSEW 2026 is designed to move Europe’s clean energy conversation toward concrete action, shared learning, and wider participation in building a clean, secure, and competitive Energy Union.
