Event Details

Carbon Capture APAC Summit 2026 is a regional carbon capture, utilisation, and storage event focused on moving CCUS in Asia-Pacific from early pilots toward large-scale deployment. It will take place on 8 and 9 July 2026 at MCEC, Melbourne, and the organiser positions it as APAC’s leading event for CCUS. The summit states that it will convene 700+ attendees, 75+ executive speakers, and 50+ sponsors and partners, with participation drawn from government, industry, finance, and the wider CCUS value chain.

Purpose and Objectives

The primary purpose of the summit is to provide a platform for turning regional CCUS momentum into bankable projects and scalable outcomes. According to the organiser, the event is designed to help stakeholders bridge the gap between policy ambition and project delivery by examining how national and state strategies can translate into implementation, investment, and regional cooperation. Its framing reflects a broader focus on CCUS not only as a decarbonisation tool for industry but also as a contributor to long-term competitiveness across Asia-Pacific markets.

Key Activities

The summit is structured around four thematic pillars: Strategy, Technology, Finance, and Collaboration. Official event materials state that the program will explore how policy settings convert into projects, how technology and infrastructure can reduce costs, how capital and carbon markets can unlock investment, and how transparency, communities, and digital tools can strengthen trust and credibility. The wider event format also includes features such as a Sustainability & Diversity Night, an Industry High-Level Roundtable Breakfast, a Women in Net-Zero Future Program, and a 2026 Start-up Innovation Challenge.

Significance

The summit is significant because it focuses on a period the organiser describes as defining for CCUS in the Asia-Pacific, with the region moving from demonstration activity toward larger projects and cross-border networks. The event specifically highlights the role of countries, including Australia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and Southeast Asian markets, in shaping that transition. By convening policymakers, investors, industrial players, and technology companies in one forum, it creates a setting for examining how credibility, infrastructure, and cooperation can support wider CCUS scale-up in the region.

Expected Outcomes

Carbon Capture APAC Summit 2026 is expected to support stronger regional partnerships, improved visibility into project and investment pathways, and more practical discussions around scaling CCUS deployment. Participants are likely to gain a clearer understanding of how policy, innovation, finance, and collaboration intersect in the regional market, while also building connections with decision-makers across the value chain. In the organiser’s framing, the broader goal is to help APAC convert trust into momentum and momentum into scale.
