Biomass-based diesel steals the show, with 7.12 billion RINs (credits) for 2026, equating to 5.61 billion gallons, and 7.50 billion RINs for 2027. This dwarfs 2025’s 3.35 billion gallons, which farmers called too low. To curb imports, the EPA cut RINs per gallon to 1.27 in 2026 and 1.28 in 2027, down from 1.6. The plan also scraps renewable electricity credits and limits foreign feedstock credits. RIN prices spiked—biomass-based credits hit $1.17, renewable fuel credits reached $1.06—signaling a $10 billion market boost.
